Community Digest: Energy Independence, Educational Breakthrough, and the Power of Memory in Bilohorodka

Energy and Logistics: New Resources for the Community

The community has taken another confident step toward energy independence. With support from the French government, it received a second Energy Box — an autonomous solar power plant with a capacity of 104 kW. The total cost of the two installations is nearly UAH 16.8 million. According to deputy Iryna Bilozor, this strategic decision will allow critical infrastructure to operate not according to blackout schedules, but according to the rhythm of the sun.

Good news for school logistics as well: the community's vehicle fleet has been replenished with a new school bus. It will be handed over to Bilohorodka Academic Lyceum No. 2. "The number of children in the community is growing, and a full bus is the best sign that we have a future," the studio notes.

Education on the Move: UAH 600 Million for Reconstruction

On December 17, the ambitious reconstruction project for three institutions officially began:

  • Sviatopetrivsk Academic Lyceum: a new wing with 20 classrooms.
  • Horenytskyi Lyceum: an extension and full modernization.
  • Barvinok Kindergarten (Bilohorodka): expansion to 14 groups.

The project, valued at around UAH 600 million, is being implemented with support from the European Investment Bank. The director of Horenytskyi Lyceum, Liudmyla Hryhorivna, emphasized: "Children will finally be able to study in a single shift and will have modern assembly and sports halls."

Social Protection and "The Power of Memory"

The community's executive committee, chaired by Anton Ovsienko, approved significant payments: more than UAH 1.1 million was allocated to support 65 defenders and their families. Under the "Care" program, almost 200 residents of the community will also receive assistance, including liquidators of the Chornobyl accident.

The spirit of unity was reinforced by the boxing tournament "The Power of Memory," which brought together 160 athletes. The main purpose of the competition was to honor the fallen heroes of the community. As a symbol of generational continuity, three trainees of the local boxing school were awarded the title of Candidate for Master of Sport (CMS).

"As long as there is light — there is hope; as long as there are children — there is a future. And as long as we are together — everything will definitely be fine."

— Margarita Liubomska, host of "Razom"

EU Against Google: Why the Latest Fine Could Change More Than Previous Ones

# European Regulators Target Google Again — This Time Over Digital Markets Act Violations. What's Behind the Accusations and Why It Matters Beyond the Corporation European regulators have renewed their scrutiny of Google, this time focusing on alleged violations of the Digital Markets Act. The charges underscore Brussels' increasingly aggressive stance on big tech monopolies and what officials say are anticompetitive practices. The accusations center on how Google leverages its dominance across multiple digital services — from search to advertising to mobile platforms — to disadvantage competitors. Regulators claim the company is using its market power in ways that stifle innovation and limit consumer choice. The case carries significance far beyond Google itself. It signals how the EU is attempting to enforce its landmark Digital Markets Act, legislation designed to curb the gatekeeping power of tech giants. A potential penalty could set precedent for how other large technology companies face similar scrutiny. For consumers and smaller tech firms, the outcome could reshape the digital landscape by creating more room for competition. For Google, fines and operational restrictions could fundamentally alter its business model in Europe, the world's most stringent regulatory market. The case also reflects a broader geopolitical divide, with the EU pursuing a regulatory approach that contrasts sharply with the lighter-touch oversight favored in the United States.
