Russian forces hold positions in northern Kupiansk but suffer losses
Russian units that are taking losses still remain in a city in the north. Ukrainian forces have disrupted enemy communications; fog and incoming fire are complicating the delivery of reinforcements.

In Kupyansk, Russian army units remain in the northern part of the city, but they are gradually losing personnel and equipment, said Viktor Trehubov, head of communications of the Joint Forces Group.

According to Trehubov, the enemy has fortified positions in the north, but these positions do not give them significant advantages. The Russians are trying to reinforce their contingents, but Ukrainian forces have effectively cut their supply routes, causing reinforcements to advance with great difficulty.

As of the morning of December 11, the situation in Kupyansk is assessed as relatively stable. Trehubov also noted that Russian propaganda reports claiming full control of the city do not correspond to reality: after making identical statements the occupiers are forced to insist on such narratives so as not to retract their previous claims.
Maneuvers of Russian forces
Local enemy activity has been recorded around the city: it is attempting to move toward the Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi direction, operate on the opposite bank of the Oskol River and transfer units across it. However, these attempts, according to Ukrainian military assessments, have not produced any significant progress.
- On December 2, Russian leadership was reportedly informed of the alleged capture of a number of Ukrainian settlements; Ukraine denied the information about the capture of Vovchansk and Kupyansk.
- That same day, Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that the defenders in Kupyansk had improved their tactical positions.
- On December 5, the military reported that the occupiers had advanced in Vovchansk, while in Kupyansk the situation looked more optimistic for the defenders.
