First Silpo supermarket to open at Bukovel resort

The Silpo chain will open its first supermarket at the Bukovel resort on December 4. The store is located on the resort's first parking level, in the village of Polianytsia, at 1 Shchyvky Street.

Location and schedule

The sales floor covers 1,441 sq. m. The store will be open daily from 8:00 to 23:00. From here, delivery of goods to nearby localities is also organized: Vorokhta, Lazeshchyna, Mykulychyn, Tatariv, Yablunytsia, Yaremche, Yasinia and Polianytsia.

Design and inspiration

The interior concept is dedicated to Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky's novella "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" and Serhii Parajanov's film adaptation. In the exhibition areas, works by contemporary artists are combined with authentic ethnographic objects, including tableware, candlesticks and furniture found during expeditions to Kolomyia and Kosiv.

Team and curator

The Silpo team and the project space "Ya Gallery" worked on the design in collaboration with the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio. For the first time, the project involved an art curator — Pavlo Hudimov.

To recreate the theme, we engaged Pavlo Hudimov and collaborated with the Dovzhenko Film Studio, and also conducted field visits to the region to get acquainted with the craftsmen and the filming locations

– Kateryna Ohuryaieva, Silpo's marketing director

They also note that household items found by the team during field trips to Kolomyia and Kosiv were used in the design.

  • In Chernivtsi, the opening of the large shopping and entertainment center Bukovyna Mall is scheduled for December 20 — it will become the largest in the city and region.
  • In Mukachevo, Retail Park Mukachevo has already opened, with a total area of about 8,600 sq. m; the city has approximately 80,000 residents.

EU Against Google: Why the Latest Fine Could Change More Than Previous Ones

# European Regulators Target Google Again — This Time Over Digital Markets Act Violations. What's Behind the Accusations and Why It Matters Beyond the Corporation European regulators have renewed their scrutiny of Google, this time focusing on alleged violations of the Digital Markets Act. The charges underscore Brussels' increasingly aggressive stance on big tech monopolies and what officials say are anticompetitive practices. The accusations center on how Google leverages its dominance across multiple digital services — from search to advertising to mobile platforms — to disadvantage competitors. Regulators claim the company is using its market power in ways that stifle innovation and limit consumer choice. The case carries significance far beyond Google itself. It signals how the EU is attempting to enforce its landmark Digital Markets Act, legislation designed to curb the gatekeeping power of tech giants. A potential penalty could set precedent for how other large technology companies face similar scrutiny. For consumers and smaller tech firms, the outcome could reshape the digital landscape by creating more room for competition. For Google, fines and operational restrictions could fundamentally alter its business model in Europe, the world's most stringent regulatory market. The case also reflects a broader geopolitical divide, with the EU pursuing a regulatory approach that contrasts sharply with the lighter-touch oversight favored in the United States.
