EU energy standard: Boyarka becomes part of Europe's major "green" strategy
Ukrainian communities are continuing to integrate into the European space not just in words but through concrete environmental and energy projects. Recently the Boyarka community took part in the annual Municipal Platform on Climate and Energy event, where, together with EU partners, they discussed the roadmap for Ukraine’s "green" recovery.

Boyarka on Europe’s Climate Map
The participation of Boyarka’s representatives in such forums is not merely a ceremonial visit, but a confirmation of the community’s status as an active member of the Association of Energy-Efficient Cities of Ukraine. As a signatory of the pan-European Covenant of Mayors, the city commits to living by new, environmentally responsible standards.
During panel discussions, Tetyana Kochkova, First Deputy Mayor of Boyarka, emphasized the importance of a systemic approach. The main message of the event: the restoration of destroyed infrastructure should not follow old Soviet templates, but should employ modern energy-efficient technologies.
Youth as a Driver of Change
Special attention at the forum was paid to the role of youth in the revival of cities. In Boyarka they are confident: the new generation should not merely observe changes, but directly shape development strategies. Involving young leaders in climate management is an investment in the sustainability of decisions that will define the face of the community in 10–20 years.

Concrete Steps: Action Plan for 2026
Cooperation with international partners is already yielding initial results. Within the framework of the EU4ClimateResilience project, the Boyarka community will begin developing a detailed Action Plan for Sustainable Development and Climate starting next year.
This is a strategic document that will enable the attraction of European investments for concrete projects: from thermal modernization of schools to the implementation of renewable energy sources. As reported by the Boyarka City Council, this approach will help the community become more resilient to energy challenges and meet the high standards of the European Union.
Recall that Boyarka is systematically working on implementing energy management tools, which makes it one of the most progressive communities in the Kyiv region in the field of environmental security.
