New Year's Fairy Tale for 10,000 Resilient Children: Kyiv Region Lights Up Christmas for Children of Heroes and Orphans
A major marathon of Christmas celebrations for children who most need warmth and support has kicked off in Kyiv region. It is a direct signal from the authorities: the most vulnerable are always remembered. The focus is on children of servicemen, fallen defenders, orphans and children with disabilities. The first to see the fairy-tale performance were 580 children.

"The Nutcracker" as a symbol of faith: to whom they first opened their hearts
The Christmas-New Year marathon in Kyiv region began on December 15 under the patronage of the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk. This year the regional authorities aim to reach more than 10,000 children who have experienced difficult life circumstances or who have parents currently defending the country.
The event is targeted at key categories that need attention:
- Children of servicemembers defending Ukraine;
- Children of fallen defenders;
- Orphans and children deprived of parental care;
- Children with disabilities.
The first audience of the New Year's performance "The Nutcracker" were 230 young residents of Boryspil District and 350 children from Brovary District. The production was prepared by actors of the Kyiv Academic Regional Music and Drama Theater named after P. K. Saksagansky. In addition to the vivid emotions from the theatrical production, all children received sweet gifts.
"The Bremen Town Musicians" and artificial intelligence: KODA's big plans
The ODA reported that the festive events will not be limited to a single performance. Plans include a packed program at the country's main cultural venues:
- A viewing of the concert-theatrical performance "The Bremen Town Musicians" at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.
- Attendance at the show "Christmas@Artificial Intelligence BATTL" at the P. I. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine.
Context: Providing support instead of imitation
Such events are part of a broader policy of supporting the families of defenders and children who are in difficult circumstances. Recall that recently in Kyiv region, on the eve of World Children's Day, a large celebration was held at the children's health camp "Chaika". There, children from family-type foster homes (DBST) were able to learn about the work of rescuers and the canine service.
These activities go beyond mere recreation. They not only bring joy but also pass on important life guidelines to the younger generation and a sense that the state values and protects them.
