600-Million Educational Breakthrough: Major Expansion of Lyceums and Kindergartens Kicks Off in Bilohorod Community

European investments in Ukrainian children

On December 17, village head Anton Ovsiyenko signed contracts with contractors, giving the green light to work in Sviatopetrivske, Horenychi and Bilohorodka. The lion's share of the financing (80%) is provided by the European Investment Bank under the "Ukraine Recovery" program; the remaining 20% is covered by the community budget.

This project is not just a "cosmetic repair" but the actual construction of new educational infrastructure adapted to modern requirements of safety and comfort.

What will change in the community?

  • Sviatopetrivskyi Academic Lyceum: The facility's area will more than double. This will allow the opening of 20 new classrooms, which is critically important for a rapidly growing community.
  • Horenychi Lyceum: The educational institution will receive not only a new building but also a complete reconstruction of the old building according to a revised modern design.
  • Kindergarten "Barvinok" (Bilohorodka): The facility will expand to 14 groups. The site will be equipped with the same number of modern playgrounds and summer pavilions.

"This is an investment in the future of the Bilohorodka community. We worked on this for almost four years, and now we have a clear plan: in two years children will have modern and safe conditions for development."

Anton Ovsiyenko, Bilohorodka village head

Oversight and timeline

The total built-up area will increase several times. The village council promises strict oversight of the work schedule, since the implementation of this project is a matter of honor for the community. Construction is scheduled for two years, and it will become one of the largest examples of successful cooperation between Ukrainian local authorities and international financial institutions.

EU Against Google: Why the Latest Fine Could Change More Than Previous Ones

# European Regulators Target Google Again — This Time Over Digital Markets Act Violations. What's Behind the Accusations and Why It Matters Beyond the Corporation European regulators have renewed their scrutiny of Google, this time focusing on alleged violations of the Digital Markets Act. The charges underscore Brussels' increasingly aggressive stance on big tech monopolies and what officials say are anticompetitive practices. The accusations center on how Google leverages its dominance across multiple digital services — from search to advertising to mobile platforms — to disadvantage competitors. Regulators claim the company is using its market power in ways that stifle innovation and limit consumer choice. The case carries significance far beyond Google itself. It signals how the EU is attempting to enforce its landmark Digital Markets Act, legislation designed to curb the gatekeeping power of tech giants. A potential penalty could set precedent for how other large technology companies face similar scrutiny. For consumers and smaller tech firms, the outcome could reshape the digital landscape by creating more room for competition. For Google, fines and operational restrictions could fundamentally alter its business model in Europe, the world's most stringent regulatory market. The case also reflects a broader geopolitical divide, with the EU pursuing a regulatory approach that contrasts sharply with the lighter-touch oversight favored in the United States.
