BTS to return on March 20, 2026: why it matters for the industry and fans

20 March 2026 — the date confirmed by BigHit Music: the legendary K-pop group BTS is returning to the stage in full after nearly a four-year hiatus. The report was confirmed by the Associated Press and the Ukrainian agency UNN. For fans this is more than a concert — it is the revival of a project that was paused due to the mandatory military service of all seven members.

What happened

BigHit Music on social media and in international media announced that BTS will perform together on 20 March 2026. The last member to complete military service was Suga in June 2025, after which the group began preparing for a joint project in July 2025.

Why it matters

The return of BTS is more than a musical event. First, it is a case of reintegrating artists after service in countries with compulsory conscription: the group has maintained audience interest and now needs to transform the members' individual successes into collective strength. Second, it is a signal for the industry: a major release and tour will reactivate streaming chains, sales and tour infrastructure. And for Ukrainian fans — it is a reason for cultural connection and joy that does not conflict with security realities, but provides a mental resource in difficult times.

What is known about the album and tour

The group has been working on a group album since July 2025. It will be their first full collective work since the anthology Proof (2022) and the studio album Be (2020). A large-scale world tour is also planned for spring 2026; exact dates and locations are expected in official announcements from BigHit Music.

"Because this will be a group album, it will reflect the thoughts and ideas of each one of us. We are approaching it with the same mindset as at the very beginning of our journey."

Implications and outlook

The effect could be multi-layered: the comeback will intensify competition in the genre, push streaming numbers and the touring market, and reactivate the fan economy. For Ukraine this means the possibility of a cultural mobilization impulse — not a replacement for political or military priorities, but an additional resource for emotional stability and for the global presence of Ukrainian fans in the international cultural field.

EU Against Google: Why the Latest Fine Could Change More Than Previous Ones

# European Regulators Target Google Again — This Time Over Digital Markets Act Violations. What's Behind the Accusations and Why It Matters Beyond the Corporation European regulators have renewed their scrutiny of Google, this time focusing on alleged violations of the Digital Markets Act. The charges underscore Brussels' increasingly aggressive stance on big tech monopolies and what officials say are anticompetitive practices. The accusations center on how Google leverages its dominance across multiple digital services — from search to advertising to mobile platforms — to disadvantage competitors. Regulators claim the company is using its market power in ways that stifle innovation and limit consumer choice. The case carries significance far beyond Google itself. It signals how the EU is attempting to enforce its landmark Digital Markets Act, legislation designed to curb the gatekeeping power of tech giants. A potential penalty could set precedent for how other large technology companies face similar scrutiny. For consumers and smaller tech firms, the outcome could reshape the digital landscape by creating more room for competition. For Google, fines and operational restrictions could fundamentally alter its business model in Europe, the world's most stringent regulatory market. The case also reflects a broader geopolitical divide, with the EU pursuing a regulatory approach that contrasts sharply with the lighter-touch oversight favored in the United States.
