An American actor has been named by Time magazine its Artist of 2025 for career achievements and for his role in Paul Thomas Anderson's film "One Battle After Another," which received the most nominations at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.

Leonardo DiCaprio was named Artist of 2025 by Time magazine. The decision highlights both his previous achievements and his latest work in film.
The publication emphasized the actor's merits, in particular his role in Paul Thomas Anderson's film "One Battle After Another", which received the most nominations at the 83rd Golden Globes. DiCaprio himself is listed among the nominations in the category "Best Actor in a Motion Picture (musical or drama)".
He often chooses projects that seem risky at first glance but ultimately prove successful; he has an instinct for selecting roles, works with those he trusts, and invests resources in what he believes in. There are also intangible components — his face, which audiences never tire of watching.

DiCaprio is an actor and film producer. In 2016 he received an Oscar for his portrayal of Hugh Glass in "The Revenant". For the same role he also received a BAFTA and a Screen Actors Guild award.
His collection includes three Golden Globes for leading male roles: for "The Aviator", "The Wolf of Wall Street" and "The Revenant". Earlier he received the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival for his portrayal of Romeo in "Romeo + Juliet".
DiCaprio began his full-fledged acting career at 16 in the early 1990s; he gained wide public and critical attention in the 2000s thanks to a range of roles and professional versatility.

The Hollywood actor said that artificial intelligence can be a useful tool in filmmaking, but stressed that true art must come from humans and retain a human core.
