Musical Bridge of Remembrance: Nearly 50 Artists Will Pay Tribute to Stepan Higa at the Palace of Sports on March 28

About the event

On 28 March in Kyiv, at one of the country’s largest arenas — Palace of Sports — a memorial concert will be held in honor of People's Artist of Ukraine Stepan Higa. The artist passed away on 12 December 2025; the organization of the event was announced by his children and the Ukrainian news agency UNN, which cites a family statement on Instagram.

Who will take part

According to his children, about 50 Ukrainian artists will participate in the concert. Among the names are FIЇNKA, alyona alyona, Nataliya Buchynska, Olya Tsybulska, Zlata Ognevich, Olena Topolya, Helya Zozulya, Viktor Bronyuk, Volkanov, Roman Sporpion, Dima Prokopov, Artem Pyvovarov and the bands «Лісапетний батальйон», «Зорепад», TVORCHI. Also announced to appear are the singer’s children — Stepan Higa Jr. and Kvitoslava Higa.

Context and significance

This concert is more than a memorial evening. When a wide range of performers — from solo stars to bands — join a tribute, it becomes a form of cultural consolidation: through music it confirms continuity and the national memory of the generations of artists who shaped the Ukrainian stage. Holding the event at the Palace of Sports emphasizes the scale of the initiative.

This will be an evening where every note will sound with love, and every song will be like an embrace that reunites us with what we hold most dear

— Stepan Higa Jr. and Kvitoslava Higa, statement on Instagram

According to UNN, other names were initially included on the participants list; in particular, Khrystyna Soloviy reported that she would not take part because she learned of the invitation only after the list was published. Such an incident highlights the organizational complexity of large memorial events and the need for clear communication between organizers and artists.

What’s next

The concert on 28 March is a signal from the music community: memory and culture remain resources of national identity. For the audience, it is a chance not only to hear beloved voices but also to see how the music scene unites around a legacy. Going forward, attention will focus on how organizers deliver on what was announced — from the program to technical execution — and on how much this initiative will strengthen cultural dialogue in the country.

EU Against Google: Why the Latest Fine Could Change More Than Previous Ones

# European Regulators Target Google Again — This Time Over Digital Markets Act Violations. What's Behind the Accusations and Why It Matters Beyond the Corporation European regulators have renewed their scrutiny of Google, this time focusing on alleged violations of the Digital Markets Act. The charges underscore Brussels' increasingly aggressive stance on big tech monopolies and what officials say are anticompetitive practices. The accusations center on how Google leverages its dominance across multiple digital services — from search to advertising to mobile platforms — to disadvantage competitors. Regulators claim the company is using its market power in ways that stifle innovation and limit consumer choice. The case carries significance far beyond Google itself. It signals how the EU is attempting to enforce its landmark Digital Markets Act, legislation designed to curb the gatekeeping power of tech giants. A potential penalty could set precedent for how other large technology companies face similar scrutiny. For consumers and smaller tech firms, the outcome could reshape the digital landscape by creating more room for competition. For Google, fines and operational restrictions could fundamentally alter its business model in Europe, the world's most stringent regulatory market. The case also reflects a broader geopolitical divide, with the EU pursuing a regulatory approach that contrasts sharply with the lighter-touch oversight favored in the United States.
