Eurovision 2026: Voting has begun on Diia — choose the tenth finalist and influence the final lineup

A civic choice on your smartphone

Voting has begun in the Diia app to select the tenth finalist of the National Selection for Eurovision 2026. Voting will run from 10:00 on 8 January until 10:00 on 13 January, the official public services portal reports; the launch was also recorded by UNN.

“Who will become the tenth participant in the National Selection for Eurovision 2026? Give your favorite a chance — join the vote from 10:00 on 8 January to 10:00 on 13 January. Ukrainians aged 14 and over can choose their favorite among the performers.”

— “Diia”, the official public services portal

Who can be chosen

The names of nine finalists have already been announced — now one more artist will join them, to be chosen by users. The Diia vote features six candidates:

  • KHAYAT — Герци;
  • Karyotype — DNA;
  • MON FIA — Do You Hear Me?;
  • ANSTAY — by the way;
  • Marta Adamchuk — Silvered Pines;
  • OKS — SAY IT ALL.

How to vote

You can open the poll in the app: Services → Polls. Ukrainians aged 14 and over may vote. The procedure takes place through your Diia account, so access to the service and authentication are key steps.

Why it matters

This vote is an example of a simple but important form of civic participation: the choice of the tenth finalist will determine who gets the chance to represent the country on the big European stage. For musicians, it is an opportunity to gain national support; for Ukraine, it is another way to demonstrate cultural resilience and influence in the international cultural arena.

After the vote closes on 13 January, the organizers will tally the results and announce the tenth finalist — that song will complete the final list of participants in the national final.

EU Against Google: Why the Latest Fine Could Change More Than Previous Ones

# European Regulators Target Google Again — This Time Over Digital Markets Act Violations. What's Behind the Accusations and Why It Matters Beyond the Corporation European regulators have renewed their scrutiny of Google, this time focusing on alleged violations of the Digital Markets Act. The charges underscore Brussels' increasingly aggressive stance on big tech monopolies and what officials say are anticompetitive practices. The accusations center on how Google leverages its dominance across multiple digital services — from search to advertising to mobile platforms — to disadvantage competitors. Regulators claim the company is using its market power in ways that stifle innovation and limit consumer choice. The case carries significance far beyond Google itself. It signals how the EU is attempting to enforce its landmark Digital Markets Act, legislation designed to curb the gatekeeping power of tech giants. A potential penalty could set precedent for how other large technology companies face similar scrutiny. For consumers and smaller tech firms, the outcome could reshape the digital landscape by creating more room for competition. For Google, fines and operational restrictions could fundamentally alter its business model in Europe, the world's most stringent regulatory market. The case also reflects a broader geopolitical divide, with the EU pursuing a regulatory approach that contrasts sharply with the lighter-touch oversight favored in the United States.
