Volleyball Festival 2026 Concludes in Irpin: Sport as a Marker of Community Recovery

The final and its significance

On March 7, the ceremonial closing of the Volleyball Festival‑2026 in the "Men" group took place in Irpin. According to First Deputy Mayor of Irpin Oleksandr Pashchynskyi, six teams took part in the competition, delivering tense matches and vivid emotions to the spectators.

Results

First place was won by the team "Irpin Youth Sports School Coaches' Team", second — "Dvizh", third — "VHB". Organizers also recognized the tournament's best players: Denys Dubas, Anton Tkachenko, Iryna Rybachok, Serhii Hrytsenko and Oleksandra Tarasiuk.

"I sincerely thank all the teams for their participation, fair play and the incredible atmosphere of this celebration of sport. Congratulations to the winners, and I wish all participants new achievements, exciting matches and even more victories ahead!"

— Oleksandr Pashchynskyi, First Deputy Mayor of Irpin

Why this matters

The festival is not just a summary of the games, but an indicator of social stability. Large-scale sporting events restore social ties, support youth training and provide a platform for local infrastructure investment. For Irpin, such initiatives are a signal that the community is regaining its rhythm of life and creating new opportunities for young people.

What's next

Organizers plan to continue holding similar tournaments to strengthen the volleyball school and attract more teams. For local residents and partners, this is a clear message: investments in sport have a measurable social effect today.

EU Against Google: Why the Latest Fine Could Change More Than Previous Ones

# European Regulators Target Google Again — This Time Over Digital Markets Act Violations. What's Behind the Accusations and Why It Matters Beyond the Corporation European regulators have renewed their scrutiny of Google, this time focusing on alleged violations of the Digital Markets Act. The charges underscore Brussels' increasingly aggressive stance on big tech monopolies and what officials say are anticompetitive practices. The accusations center on how Google leverages its dominance across multiple digital services — from search to advertising to mobile platforms — to disadvantage competitors. Regulators claim the company is using its market power in ways that stifle innovation and limit consumer choice. The case carries significance far beyond Google itself. It signals how the EU is attempting to enforce its landmark Digital Markets Act, legislation designed to curb the gatekeeping power of tech giants. A potential penalty could set precedent for how other large technology companies face similar scrutiny. For consumers and smaller tech firms, the outcome could reshape the digital landscape by creating more room for competition. For Google, fines and operational restrictions could fundamentally alter its business model in Europe, the world's most stringent regulatory market. The case also reflects a broader geopolitical divide, with the EU pursuing a regulatory approach that contrasts sharply with the lighter-touch oversight favored in the United States.
